USA:ssa jo 75 lääkäriä on saanut koulutusta borrelioosin diagnostiikasta, hoidoista jne. Koulutusta on antanut borrelioosiin erikoistunut terveydenhuollon ammattilainen (ILADS). Suomessa tällaisen koulutuksen saaneita lääkäreitä ei vielä tällä hetkellä ole.
