"I have called several of you in the past two days. That is because I am so excited about this new treatment. I started it Tuesday evening, May 18th. Within an hour I found that the tendons around my knees which have been excruciatingly painful for a year began to feel better. I drove 2 days later for 10 hours crossing NY state from Erie, PA to Lyme, CT (ground zero) and felt great when I arrived. I drove my myself - no problem. My anxiety attacks seem to have disappeared even though I still have hot flashes. I drove 10 hrs back, I flew to Altanta, stood in a mold infested tunnel, flew to Las Vegas, slept great. What can I say?!
I have only started taking Benicar 3 pills in 24 hrs at 40 mg each. My blood pressure which was normal with occasional lows and highs is today 117/70 - no problem. I haven't started the minocin yet as I am still on Shoemaker's 3 antibiotics for the staph colonization. I was doing ok on Shoemaker's questran protocol, but this is a quantum leap from what I was doing.
Some of you know my sixth grade teacher approach to life - if something can be simplified I will do it. Basically this Marshall protocol is simple. You have intracellular infections, borrelia, mycoplasma, other? that you want to treat with the old Brown protocol for arthritis. But you know that throwing antibiotics at this crap for years hasn't licked it. So you add an immune modulator - in this case one that reduces the Th 1 inflamation without shutting down the Th 1 germ killing properties. In other words you are getting a steroid effect on inflamation without a steroid effect on the whole immune system. You stay out of the sun and cut out the vitamin D because that keeps the infection happy and entering cells like crazy - you don't want to enable them. Voila, you start to feel better and get better. What's not to like?
Yes, I know you have lots of questions. If you have to have all the answers start reading the websites below and join the yahoo groups list called "Marshalprotocol. I turn 59 this summer, this stuff is working and I am getting to old to care if I understand it all.

Also here is an interesting research article suggesting sarcoidosis and borrelia may have a connection.
Chin Med J (Engl). 1992 Jul;105(7):560-3.
Borrelia burgdorferi infection may be the cause of sarcoidosis.
Hua B, Li QD, Wang FM, Ai CX, Luo WC.
Naval General Hospital, Beijing.
Serum antibody to Borrelia burgdorferi was measured in 33 patients with sarcoidosis which was confirmed clinically and pathologically. The results showed that 81.8% of the patients were positive for anti-B. burgdorferi antibody. In addition, a strain of B. burgdorferi was isolated from a patient's blood. Fifteen patients received ceftriaxone 2g per day or penicillin 12 million U per day. The antibody titers of the patients decreased to nearly normal levels rapidly. Serum angiotensin converting enzyme (SACE) turned to normal range after the treatment. According to the findings mentioned above, we consider that B. burgdorferi infection may be the cause of sarcoidosis and sarcoidosis might be a specific type of Lyme disease.
